Motorola Atrix became the most anticipated smartphone at CES 2011 after showing its excellence in both hardware and software features. And yesterday Motorola Atrix makes its TV Ad debut in the states.

Motorola launched the Atrix as “the world’s most powerful smartphone”, thanks to its dual-core processor and super-fast 4G speeds over in the States. The advert adopts this powerful tag-line, showing that the Atrix is much more than just a smartphone.

Once available, the smartphone can be attached to multiple docks, giving it all sorts of different functionality beyond that of a phone. The Laptop Dock turns the handset into a mobile computer, while its optional HD Multimedia Dock lets you use the device as an all-round media hub.

The 30-second ad takes advantage of this, and shows the Atrix being scanned in an airport, only for the X-ray of the device to show up as a laptop. Clever stuff.

LG was the proudest manufacturer of world’s first Dual-core processor powered Android based handset LG Optimus 2X at CES 2011 in Las Vegas. It was expected to released on February, now we have the definite date for the launch party.

Electronic retailer Expansys has revealed that the SIM free phone will be launched on 21st February at a price £500. They have already started taking pre-orders.

The phone features 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo), Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) already announced, 8GB built-in memory and a list of very high specifications. LG Optimus 2X is also the first handset to offer full HD 1080p video recording and playback capabilities.

By now you’re probably aware that latest version of Skype for iOS allows Video Chat over Wifi and 3G connections. It’s a really good news… isn’t it?

But do you know how much of your data plan the new feature is going to consume?

Luckily Mark from 9 to 5 Mac has done an experiment and outcome is a bit worrying. According to his experiment, Skype Video Chat can eat up around 3.4MB per minute.

Are you not worried? Let’s put you into a perspective. Suppose you are subscribed to 500MB per month data plan, you will be able to video chat for almost two and half hours (if you don’t use your data allowance for any other purpose).

So, if you love to do video chat with your friend and family, keep an eye on your data consumption unless you want to see a hefty bill at the end of the month.

Our Advice: If you have access to Wifi, don’t put burden on your 3G network.

First dual core processor powered smartphone, LG Optimus 2x is coming to UK and other European countries next month, according to a press release by LG.

This super smartphone (!!!) will be featured with a Nvidia’s Tegra 2 dual core processor. But disappointedly, it will be shipped with Froyo (aka Android 2.2) and will be upgraded to Gingerbread (aka Android 2.3) later date.

Key features of the phone are as follows:

• 1Ghz Dual-core Processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2)
• 4-inch WVGA screen
• 8GB memory (up to 32GB via microSD)
• 1,500 mAh battery
• 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera

LG has confirmed that the handset will be launching across Europe in January, with an exclusive selection of ringtones written by famed composer Ennio Morricone, a name more usually associated with film scores than mobile phones.

There is no indication of pricing of the phone yet, but we can expect the initial price around £450+, direct competition to HTC Desire HD, Google Nexus S and Sony Ericsson X12.
