Philips’ new DCP951 portable DVD player has an extra little trick up its sleeve when it comes to entertainment options – slide out the dock connector at the side and slip in your iPod and you can enjoy movies, music and photos from your portable player on its 9in widescreen display.

For extra playback options, you can also use the card slot to access media stored on SD or MMC cards. If you prefer to stay disc based then as well as normal DVDs, it can also handle DivX discs as well as MP3 or picture CDs.

The battery should keep you going for a good two and a half hours per charge and it comes with dual headphone sockets so two people can enjoy the same flick together.
